Sheri Liebschner
Akron, Ohio
Working towards a masters degree at the University of Akron
College of Business Administration. She earned a law degree from the
University of Akron in 1996 and spent seven years as a prosecuting attorney for
the City of Akron and Columbiana County, Ohio. She also worked as a radio
newscaster for five years in Alliance, Ohio and her hometown of East Liverpool
after earning her bachelor of science in mass communication in 1988 from
Miami University (Oxford, Ohio).
Sheri ran on the varsity women's cross country team at Miami and participated in
track and cross country at
Beaver Local High School (Lisbon OH)
earning two varsity letters and the cross country coach's award in 1983.
Sheri currently participates in masters track, field, and cross country events
in northeast Ohio and around the country. She is looking forward to
returning to the National Indoor Masters Track and Field meet in Boston in March
2004 where she recorded a personal best 800-meter time of 2:36 in 2001. Most
recently, Sheri participated in the Potomac Valley Games in Washington, DC
August 31st and the Dolores Swan Memorial Run for Ovarian Cancer in Akron
September 13th.
In addition to running, Sheri enjoys studying painting and drawing and performs
as a clarinet player in two Akron area community bands. She also teaches
kickboxing and various group exercise classes at fitness clubs around Akron.
